The PhD research into the motor development and treatment of children with Down syndrome led to multiple national and international scientific publications. The development of the BMS was completed in 2020 with the publication of motor development curves for children with Down syndrome (Lauteslager, P. E. M., Volman, J. M., Lauteslager, T., Van den Heuvel, M. E., Jongerling, J., & Klugkist, I. G. (2020). Basic Motor Skills of Children with Down Syndrome: Creating a Motor Growth Curve.
